Cold and dry weather is expected across most parts of the country during the next 24 hours, with very cold conditions in hilly areas, the Pakistan Meteorological Department said.
On Wednesday, cold and dry weather will persist in most regions, while very cold and cloudy conditions are forecast in hilly areas. The department said rain and snowfall may occur at isolated locations in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Shallow to moderate fog patches are also likely in northeast and southern Punjab and upper Sindh during the morning hours.
In the past 24 hours, most parts of the country experienced cold and dry weather, while hilly regions remained very cold and partly cloudy. Shallow fog was reported in parts of northern and eastern Punjab.
The lowest recorded temperatures on Tuesday were Leh at minus 9 degrees Celsius, Skardu, Gupis and Bagrote at minus 7, Gilgit at minus 6, and Astore, Hunza and Quetta at minus 4.
