Inter Provincial coordination meeting of the authorities of Irrigation Department Balochistan and Sindh was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti to review distribution of water between Balochistan and Sindh, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

Indus River System AuthorityIRSA agreement and point of view of both the provinces regarding distribution of water between both the provinces were tabled before the meeting for consideration. Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti formed a committee, comprising Secretaries of Irrigation Departments Sindh and Balochistan and members of IRSA, to address the issue regarding distribution of water between Balochistan and Sindh.

The committee was tasked to submit viable suggestions in the review report to be submitted after consulting Ministers of Irrigation Departments of both the provinces to address the issue regarding distribution of water between Balochistan and Sindh.

It was decided in the meeting that decision made in the meeting would be announced by provincial Ministers of Irrigation Departments, Balochistan and Sindh in a press conference.
