Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti has underscored the need for reform within the civil service, urging immediate changes to enhance governance and curb anti-state activities.
During a high-level meeting with departmental secretaries, Bugti stressed the urgency of amending the civil servant act to facilitate the forced retirement of non-performing officers. He highlighted the role of governance in countering anti-state elements, warning that poor administration could empower adversaries.
The session also brought to light cases of dual employment, with 428 employees across 28 departments identified. The Chief Minister instructed immediate legal action, including the filing of First Information Reports (FIRs) and proceedings under the Balochistan Employees’ Disciplinary Act (BEDA).
This initiative marks a significant step towards accountability and efficiency in Balochistan’s civil services.
