Islamabad: A historic City Parade was held at D-Chowk in Islamabad today to mark Independence Day with great national fervour. The grand event was attended by Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi.

According to Radio Pakistan, a large number of citizens and families participated in the parade, which prominently showcased the rich cultural diversity of Pakistan. The Islamabad City Parade featured disciplined displays by police squads, vibrant performances by the Jhang dance group, traditional dhol beats, and performances by pipe and percussion bands.

A camel band captivated the audience with a distinct performance, alongside a fleet of vintage cars and motorbikes that added classical charm to the parade. Renowned artists Nimra Mehra, Sahir Ali Bagga, and the Khumariyaan Band gave live musical performances.

The parade concluded with a spectacular fireworks display illuminating the night sky over the federal capital. Speaking on the occasion, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the Islamabad City Parade aimed to involve citizens in Independence Day celebrations while highlighting the country's rich cultural heritage. He added that Independence Day is a day of national solidarity and patriotism, as well as an occasion to renew our pledge to build a bright future for Pakistan.
