The Chief Justice of Pakistan today briefed the outgoing and incoming leadership of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on significant institutional reforms aimed at strengthening transparency and efficiency, emphasizing that sustained coordination between the bench and bar is essential for the effective administration of justice.

The meeting at the Supreme Court included the outgoing SCBA cabinet, led by Mr. Rauf Atta, and the newly elected cabinet, headed by Mr. Haroon ur Rasheed.

The Chief Justice detailed the establishment of Public Facilitation Centers at the Principal Seat and all branch registries. He explained these centers are designed to offer a single-window service, enabling timely access to information and providing efficient grievance redress for both litigants and lawyers.

He underscored that the system”s enhancement would be a continuous process, welcoming constructive feedback from all stakeholders. The Chief Justice also noted the ongoing modernization of court processes through technology to streamline services and reduce procedural costs for the bar and litigants.

Reaffirming procedural integrity, the head of the judiciary stated that cases are being fixed strictly as per the policy available on the court’s website, with applications for early hearings considered on their merits. He also reiterated the Supreme Court”s commitment to its constitutional boundaries and its full respect for the administrative and judicial independence of High Courts.

The Chief Justice assured the incoming cabinet that the Supreme Court would maintain a constructive and open engagement with the bar and that concerns from the legal fraternity would receive due attention.

The outgoing cabinet expressed its appreciation for the support extended by the Chief Justice throughout their tenure, acknowledging his engagement with bar representatives nationwide.

In response, the newly elected SCBA leadership affirmed its commitment to continued collaboration with the judiciary in advancing accessible and efficient justice delivery.

The meeting concluded with a gesture of goodwill, as the Chief Justice presented a shield to the outgoing cabinet members, who reciprocated with a memento.
