ISLAMABAD: Mustafa Nawaz Khokar on Thursday formally submitted his resignation as Senator to the Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, who accepted it. In a twee, Mr Khokar clarified that he will not be joining any political party for the time being. He said he was thankful for the positive response and support across party lines which was far beyond his imagination.
The seat of Mr Khokar, a former PPP lawmaker, has been declared vacant. He resigned after it emerged that the party was unhappy with his political position. As a political worker, Khokhar said, he cherishes his right to express his opinions on matters of public interest. Mr Khokhar was given a Senate seat from Sindh.
