Ceremony held at Governor House in honour of brave children

LAHORE: Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman Saturday participated as a special guest in a ceremony organized by Make A Wish Foundation in honour of innocent brave children suffering from dangerous diseases at Governor House Lahore.

The event was attended by well-known businessman and social personality S.M. Munir, actress Reema Khan, board members of Make A Wish Pakistan and people from various fields. Addressing the event, Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that children are the asset of the nation and they are our future.

He said that love for children and especially for such special children who are fighting dangerous diseases with great courage and bravery, is no less than worship. He said that these children are very brave and courageous. He said that he is feeling great to spend time with children. He said that there is no better medicine in the world than love. He said that children are very innocent and we should fulfill their wishes because they are our future.

Governor Punjab said that he is happy to know that ‘Make A Wish Foundation Pakistan’ is performing its services under the leadership of Ishtiaq Baig and is fulfilling the wishes of terminally ill children and bringing smiles to the faces of these children. He said that welfare and social services of Make A Wish Foundation are valuable.

Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that organizations like Make A Wish should be established which not only motivates the children suffering from fatal diseases but also instills in them the passion to fight the disease. He said that no civilized society can ignore such children. He said that it is the responsibility of all of us to fully cooperate with such organizations that are rendering their services for welfare. He said that may Allah Almighty grant these children a long life with health and well-being.

On this occasion, Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman distributed gifts among the children according to their wishes on behalf of Make A Wish Pakistan. Ishtiaq Baig, head of Make A Wish Pakistan, presented the shield to Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman on behalf of the organization.
