CDA intensifies action against illegal constructions, encroachments

On the directions of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), who is also the Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the ongoing drive against the illegal constructions and encroachments has been intensified.

The Building Control Section (BCS) of CDA on Saturday continued its strict enforcement drive in the city, taking across the board actions against unauthorized and illegal structures and encroachments that hinder public convenience and urban planning standards as well as causing millions of rupees loss to the national exchequer for not paying various taxes including charges of CDA regarding approval of building maps and structural designs as per law.

During the ongoing derive against illegal encroachments, the BCS conducted clean-up operation in F-10 Markaz, against 29 illegal workshops that had encroached upon public land on a large scale.

These unauthorized establishments had created multiple obstructions on the main link road, causing significant public nuisance, traffic congestion, and disruption to designated parking spaces. The operation was aimed at restoring the area’s planned functionality and ensuring smooth traffic flow.

The CDA’s Building Control Section also launched enforcement actions against illegal rooftop constructions in F-7 Markaz. Unauthorized structures on Plot No. 1-D and Plot No. 13-Y were dismantled, and further construction activities were halted to prevent additional violations.

These operations are being carried out to uphold the city’s master plan, protect public spaces, and maintain an organized urban environment.

The CDA has urged all businesses and property owners to comply with building regulations to avoid legal action and contribute to the city’s sustainable development.
