Call to provide edible items to Quetta citizens on subsidised rates

Quetta: Quetta Development Mahaz (QDM) on Sunday demanded of the authorities to provide edible items to the dwellers of Quetta city on subsidised rates during the holy month of Ramazan.

This demand was made in the meeting of central executive committee of QDM held under the Chairmanship of Chairman, QDM, Abdul Mateen Akhunzada at the residence of Haji Musa Khan Jamalzai, central Secretary Finance, QDM.

Addressing the meeting, Chairman, QDM, Abdul Mateen Akhunzada said that High Court of Balochistan and Chief Minister Balochistan are helpless before the satanic departments, that is, Quetta Electric Supplies Company (QESCO) and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited, adding that prolonged load shedding of natural gas and electricity had made the lives of the people of Quetta city miserable. He demanded of the authorities to set up cheap markets in different areas of Quetta city, enabling citizens of the city to purchase daily commodities at an affordable prices during the holy month Ramzan.

He said that Balochistan-WASA has miserably failed to provide pure drinking water to the people of Quetta, adding election of local bodies in Quetta was essential to be conducted to get the problems of Quetta city addressed, adding that assigning look after charge of the post Administrator Quetta Metropolitan Corporation to Commissioner Quetta Division is not solution to address issues being faced by the citizens of Quetta with regard to Quetta Metropolitan Corporation. He said that QDM would launch special awareness campaigns about the rights of consumers on March 15 to mark “World Consumer Rights Day”.

Meeting was also addressed by Secretary General, QDM, Nazar Bareach, Secretary Federal Affairs, Nazeer Bazai, Haji Fazal Dad, Jamil Ahmed Mushwani, Fareed Bughti, Shair Khan Kharoti, Syed Fazal-ur-Rehman Shah, Ajab Khan Nasar, Abdul Khaliq Dumar, Muhammad Ibrahim Jamalzai and others.
