Burglars loot Rs0.5m cash, 187.5 grams gold in Karachi

KARACHI: In the New Karachi Sector 5C-2 area, a robbery incident has come to light, with burglars making off with a haul of cash and gold, police said Saturday.

According to the police report, the burglars entered a shop by cutting its lock. They collected Rs500,000 in cash, 187.5 grams of gold and decamped with booty to unknown destination.

In response to the incident, Karachi law enforcement team swiftly reached the crime scene to the location, and gathered pivotal evidence that may aid in the ongoing investigation. Authorities have launched search to identify and bring the looters to justice.

The crime rate in Karachi is rising amid high inflation, unemployment and poverty. The situation has turned so worst that poor people could not affort two-time meal to their children besides being unable to further educate them.
