BUJ demands withdrawal of cases against journalists

QUETTA: Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) on Thursday demanded withdrawal of cases lodged against journalists, including Hammad Yousaf.

This demand was made in a protest demonstration held outside Quetta Press Club under the aegis of BUJ on the call of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists against anti-media policies of the government and lodging of cases against journalists.

Addressing the protest demonstration, speakers said that the government was taking action against journalists. Chanting slogans against the federal government, protesters demanded of the authorities to withdraw cases lodged against journalists, including Hammad Yousaf.

The protest demonstration was addressed by Shahzada Zulfiqar, former President of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists; Irfan Saeed, President of the Balochistan Union of Journalists; and Abdul Khaliq Rind, President of Quetta Press Club.
