Budget for girls college bus, driver and cleaner posts demanded in Naundero

NAUNDERO: The Principal, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Government Girls Degree College, Naundero, Faheem Akhtar Ansari, has written a letter to the Secretary, College Education Department, for allocation and sanction of POL budget and Transportation of Goods for College Bus.

In her letter, the principal has said that the bus is used for pick and drop of girl students of rural areas of Naundero which was given to the college by the then education minister Pir Mazharul Haq in 2012-13 but since then no separate budget for POL has been allocated to run the bus for the benefit of the girls who are coming to this college from far flung areas of this ever growing town.

She has urged the College Education Secretary to not only allocate a separate annual budget but also release it well in time so that the bus could be made operational and girls of rural areas would be able to get higher education and avail this government facility which is already available almost everywhere in the province.

While talking to media persons on Monday she said that there are no posts of the driver and cleaner for the bus which may also be created and released in the upcoming budget. She said college administration has been constantly requesting political and non-political persons here but in vain and the issue has not yet been resolved. She said college teachers are at the moment bearing the cost of fuel for the bus, driver and clear.

She said Naundero is the hometown of martyred Bhutto leaders where all required facilities for the students should have been made available long ago but the same are still lacking which really is astonishing. She said mercury shoots up to 50 degree Centigrade in summer during which girl students face hardships while coming to the college and going back to their homes. It must be mentioned here that as many as 850 girl students are enrolled in the girls college out of which 318 girls are enrolled in XIth class, 132 in XIIth class and 350 in BA and B.Sc.
