British Deputy High Commissioner Lance Doom met with Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon to discuss the province’s burgeoning energy sector and ambitious housing projects. The meeting highlighted the joint efforts between Pakistan and the United Kingdom in advancing sustainable development.
During the discussion, Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized the province’s various initiatives to achieve energy autonomy, including Thar coal, solar, wind hybrid, and domestic solar projects. The minister stressed that new solar and wind hybrid projects are set to commence soon, involving significant cooperation from the World Bank.
Memon expressed a desire to strengthen relations with the United Kingdom, focusing on the optimal utilization of Sindh’s abundant natural resources. He reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to achieving energy self-sufficiency and mentioned ongoing efforts to effectively harness local resources.
