Birth Anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Commemorated Across Pakistan


ISLAMABAD: The ninety-seventh birth anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, former Prime Minister and founder of the Pakistan People’s Party, was commemorated today with various events highlighting his contributions to the nation. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s political landscape, was born in Larkana in 1928 and was instrumental in shaping the country’s democratic framework.



According to Radio Pakistan, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto established the Pakistan People’s Party in 1967, a significant political movement that has since remained influential in the country’s politics. He served as Pakistan’s President from 1971 until 1973 and then as Prime Minister from 1973 to 1977. His leadership during these years is often noted for significant political and economic reforms.



In a message marking the occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari praised Bhutto as a visionary leader who dedicated his life to the service of the Pakistani people. Zardari emphasized Bhutto’s commitment to democracy and his unwavering stance against dictatorship and oppression. These sentiments were echoed in various commemorative events held across the country, where Bhutto’s legacy as a leader who championed the rights of the common people was celebrated.



The observance of Bhutto’s birth anniversary serves as a reminder of his enduring impact on Pakistan’s political and social fabric.
