Pakistan Peoples Party Sindh Information Secretary Senator Aajiz Dhamrah has announced that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has secured a major diplomatic victory for Pakistan in the Indus Waters Treaty dispute by presenting effective arguments in an international arbitration court. Dhamrah added that this effective advocacy has significantly strengthened Pakistan’s international standing.

Senator Dhamrah emphasized that Bhutto Zardari’s “No theft on the Indus” campaign resonated in court. He assured those concerned about water rights that the PPP fully supports their stance and is committed to preventing any exploitation of the Indus River.

He condemned the Indian government’s attempts to unilaterally withdraw from the Indus Waters Treaty, calling it not only illegal but also a conspiracy to create a serious water crisis in the region. He praised the PPP leadership for exposing this attempt. He said Bhutto Zardari presented Pakistan’s case with deep knowledge, legal expertise, and diplomatic skill on global platforms, demonstrating that the Indus Waters Treaty is an international agreement that cannot be unilaterally revoked or suspended.

Senator Dhamrah said the court’s decision validated Bhutto Zardari’s stance and clearly indicated that India’s unilateral approach violates the provisions of the treaty and jeopardizes regional peace and security. He declared this decision a significant diplomatic victory for Pakistan, thanks to the successful challenge by the PPP and Bhutto Zardari against India’s attempted encroachment on Pakistan’s water resources.

He reiterated the PPP’s commitment to protecting national interests, especially the water rights of Sindh and other provinces. This struggle will continue under Bhutto Zardari’s leadership, and the PPP is committed to defending the rights of the Pakistani people at every level.
