Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said the economy has taken off under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and it will further strengthen in the coming days.
Addressing a news conference here in Islamabad on Friday, he pointed out that the foreign exchange reserves have crossed the mark of eleven billion dollars while remittances remained three billion dollars in the month of October.
He said investment is pouring in from different countries including Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar. He said these are encouraging developments. He mentioned that benefits of economic improvement are gradually reaching the common man.
The Information Minister said a delegation of UAE is meeting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today for investment in Pakistan. In this regard, he said, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will also be signed between the two sides.
As regards the recent judicial reforms, the Information Minister said the result of the elections for Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) is an endorsement of the 26th Constitutional Amendment.
The Information Minister said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is staging public gatherings to get NRO for its founding chairman. However, he emphasized that there are corruption cases against the PTI’s founding chairman, and he should respond to them.
