Balochistan, Sindh facing challenges in healthcare delivery, tells SHCC leader

KARACHI:,,, Chairman Board of Commissioners, Sindh Healthcare Commission declared Balochistan Healthcare Commission as a Sister Concern and offered full support for operational excellence. Balochistan and Sindh are facing challenges in healthcare delivery, so the system needs tangible improvement in the quality of healthcare services.

These views were shared by Dr Khalid Shaikh, Chairman BoC, Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC), during the meeting with the members of the newly formed Balochistan Healthcare Commission (BHCC) on Thursday. A delegation of BHCC under the leadership of the Chairman Board of BHCC, Justice Retired A Hameed Baluch was on a two-day exposure and learning visit to the SHCC.

Dr. Sheikh, extended a warm welcome to the delegate, assuring unwavering support from SHCC during the establishment and ongoing operations of BHCC. On the occasion, Dr. Shaikh declared SHCC as a sister concern of BHCC for concerted activities. Justice A Hameed Baloch appreciated the support of SHCC and endorsed the collaborative efforts between the two healthcare commissions, for quality health improvement of both provinces.

The visiting delegation of BHCC comprised Naseem Lehri, Dr Wahid Baloch, Dr Farooq Azam Jan, Dr Masood Nousherwani, M Jalal Mondokhail, and Dr Noor Qazi, the CEO of BHCC. CEO of SHCC, Dr Ahson Qavi Siddiqi, and his team of Directors organized orientation and training sessions, providing valuable insights and sharing their experiences with the delegates. Dr. Noor Qazi, CEO of BHCC, expressed his perspective, highlighting the social and cultural similarities between Baluchistan and Sindh. He emphasized that this visit serves as a crucial step in guiding BHCC’s operations in the right direction.

Dr. Qazi extended gratitude to the SHCC team for providing a valuable learning opportunity, considering it as practical assistance, and love from the people of Sindh for their brother of Baluchistan for the establishment of BHCC and for providing quality healthcare services. SHCC organized a reception dinner in honour of the delegate, during which Commissioners of the SHCC Board, Dr. AG Shoro, Dr. Ghulam Rasool Shah, Dr. Mirza Ali Azhar, and Dr. Shoaib Gangat participated and finally, mementos were presented to the esteemed guests.
