Muzaffarabad:The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has reaffirmed its commitment to taking all necessary steps within constitutional and legal boundaries to address the threat posed by the outlawed Joint Awami Action Committee's armed gangs.

According to Radio Pakistan, this determination was articulated by Khushhal Khan, the Chief Secretary of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Captain (Retired) Liaquat Ali Malik, the Inspector General of Police, during a news conference. They honored the police martyrs who sacrificed their lives for peace and expressed admiration for the injured police personnel, wishing them a swift recovery.

The Chief Secretary emphasized that the transfer of power in the region has been completed peacefully following recent elections, contributing to the restoration of normalcy. He highlighted that the government is vigilantly monitoring anti-state activities and movements by miscreants.

Inspector General of Police Liaquat Ali Malik stated that the government is fully committed to utilizing all available resources to maintain law and order. He warned of stringent measures against those responsible for the tragic incident that led to the deaths and injuries of security personnel in the Chamyati area of Dhirkot.

He reported that 122 individuals accused of causing unrest and spreading anarchy in the Chamyati area have been arrested, with legal proceedings underway. He also noted that law enforcement agencies successfully thwarted an attempt by the banned Joint Awami Action Committee to disrupt the recent elections.

The IGP urged the citizens of Azad Kashmir to be aware of the true nature of these violent groups, as evidenced by their own social media content.
