An Indian army soldier was killed during an attack in Kulgam district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to a Kashmir Media Service report on Saturday, the incident occurred when Indian forces’ personnel launched a cordon and search operation in Mudergham area of the district this afternoon.

Confirming the incident, a senior police officer stated that the soldier was promptly evacuated to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his bullet injuries. The officer also noted that a gunfight ensued between mujahideen and Indian troops in the area.
