AQM leader warns against crackdown on Pushtuns

Ahmed Khan, central leader of the Afghan Qaumi Movement, today strongly condemned the ongoing crackdown against Pushtuns in Islamabad and other parts of Punjab.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Khan warned that the consequences of these actions against innocent Pushtuns would be severe.

Khan highlighted the increasing mistreatment of Pushtuns, particularly at security checkposts, where he described the behavior as ‘humiliating.’ He also expressed concern over the closure of business points along the Pak-Afghan border, which he said had deprived millions of Pushtuns of their livelihoods.

‘The exploitation of oppressed nations in the country continues to grow day by day,’ Khan stated, condemning the actions taken against marginalized communities. He also denounced the use of force against peaceful protesters in Islamabad, urging the government to protect the rights of citizens.

Khan’s remarks come amid mounting tension and unrest, as Pushtun leaders accuse the government of disproportionately targeting their community through recent policies.
