A varied duration anti-Polio vaccination campaign began across the country on Monday.

During the campaign, anti-Polio vaccine will be administered to the children under five years of age. Mobile teams of health department will go door to door to ensure that no child is left without vaccination.

In Punjab, anti-polio drive started in six specific districts, will continue until June 9. During the drive, anti-polio drops will be administered to six point four million children in Lahore, Okara, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Mianwali.

In Sindh, a seven-day special anti-polio vaccination campaign began in twenty districts including Karachi. In the drive, around 4.5 million children upto the age of five would be administered anti-polio vaccine.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a five-day anti-polio drive in twenty-three districts started. More than three point five million children will be administered anti-polio drops during the campaign.

And in Balochistan, seven-day anti-polio campaign began in fourteen districts. During the drive, more than 1.8 million children would be administered anti-polio drops.

Due to expected heat-wave in Naseerabad, Sibi, Jaffarabad, Usta Muhammad, Dera Bugti and Sohbatpur, the anti-polio drive will begin on June 8.
