Federal Minister for Railways, Hanif Abbasi, announced on Wednesday the restoration of train service in Balochistan starting from March 27.
He stated that the Jaffer Express will depart from Peshawar to Quetta on March 27 and will return from Quetta to Peshawar on March 28. Additionally, a special train will operate from Quetta to Peshawar on March 29. Passengers will be offered discounts during the first three days of Eid.
The Bolan Express, which previously operated twice a week, will now run daily. The number of passenger trains operating from Balochistan will be increased from three to nine.
To address security issues at railway stations, 500 new recruits will be hired, with seventy percent of the candidates being from Balochistan.
In the next phase, an additional 1,000 personnel will be deployed in the railway police. The Minister for Railways stated that these measures will make travel easier for the people of Balochistan.
