The spokesperson of the provincial government, Shahid Rind, has stated that Section 144 is in effect in Balochistan, and action will be taken against those who violate it.
During a press conference here today, Shahid Rand clarified that no government delegation met with Dr Mahrang Baloch, a leader of the Baloch Yekjehti Committee, at Quetta District Jail.
He mentioned that Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal, head of the Balochistan National Party, was offered to hold a sit-in at Shawani Stadium on Sariab Road, but he insisted on holding the sit-in in the Red Zone area.
The spokesperson further stated that considering the current security situation, permission will not be granted for a sit-in in the Red Zone area.
Two rounds of negotiations between the government and the Balochistan National Party have failed, although the government is showing restraint.
Akhtar Mengal has demanded the release of Dr. Mehrang Baloch, along with others.
The spokesperson added that anti-state statements were made at the protest sit-in of the Balochistan National Party in Lakpas, and strict action will be taken against them.
