In a sweeping crackdown on narcotics, the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan seized over 1,288 kilograms of drugs, destroyed approximately 62 acres of poppy crops valued at $97.85 million, and arrested 67 individuals, including two foreign nationals.
According to Anti Narcotics Force report today, the comprehensive operation spanned 58 counter-narcotics actions across the nation, resulting in the impoundment of 29 vehicles. The seized drugs included substantial quantities such as 284.113 kilograms of opium, 34.155 kilograms of heroin, 892.980 kilograms of hashish, 65.809 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 10.567 kilograms of ecstasy tablets.
Additionally, ANF Balochistan conducted seven operations recovering 855 kilograms of drugs, while ANF Punjab carried out 18 operations seizing 247.47 kilograms of narcotics.
In KPK, five operations led to the recovery of 48.400 kilograms of hashish, and ANF Sindh confiscated 81.6 kilograms of drugs across 11 operations. The ANF North region conducted 18 operations, seizing 56.495 kilograms of drugs. Furthermore, ANF targeted drug suppliers in educational institutions, arresting eight individuals involved in distributing 10.483 kilograms of drugs.
The operations were registered under the CNS Act, with investigations ongoing. Beyond drug seizures, ANF conducted awareness campaigns to educate the youth and general public on the dangers of drug abuse. Five awareness sessions were held in educational institutions, along with four public awareness activities to encourage community vigilance against drug-related issues.
