Islamabad: Brigadier (Retired) Rashid Wali, a defense analyst, has praised the ongoing efforts of Pakistan's security forces in countering various terrorist groups, including TTP, Taliban, Fitna-al-Hindustan, Fitna-al-Khawaraj, and BLA. He emphasized the challenges posed by a persistent influx of terrorists across the Afghan border despite continuous diplomatic efforts with the Afghan Taliban regime. According to him, the Afghan authorities have failed to curb terrorist movements or share significant intelligence, demonstrating their inability to manage these threats effectively.According to Radio Pakistan, the analyst noted a shift in terrorist strategies, with increased activities in urban areas following attacks in Islamabad and on the Frontier Corps headquarters in Peshawar. The armed forces have conducted over 4,000 intelligence-based operations recently, resulting in the elimination of 208 terrorists. Despite this success, influential groups benefiting from smuggling and trade are allegedly supporting terrorist activities within Pakistan.Brigadier Wali emphasized the need for enhanced border control to prevent illegal crossings and smuggling. He also highlighted the deactivation of numerous sleeper cells linked to Indian-sponsored terrorism. The analyst expressed concern over India's use of Afghanistan as a base for launching terrorist activities against Pakistan. Furthermore, he criticized the Afghan Taliban's ideological stance, which hinders decisive action against terrorist outfits, despite Pakistan's longstanding support for Afghanistan. He attributed this inaction to the Afghan Taliban's lack of statecraft experience and international isolation.
