According to Radio Pakistan, during a Board meeting of the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) held in Karachi, Ali Pervaiz Malik highlighted the persistent problems of gas theft, technical challenges, and infrastructure bottlenecks affecting the region. He underscored the government's commitment to implementing comprehensive reforms in the gas sector, with the assistance of the World Bank.

The minister urged the SSGC board to focus on enhancing the sustainability of the institution and called for a review of the existing gas subsidy system and price slabs. He stressed the importance of addressing these issues to improve the overall efficiency and reliability of gas supply services.

During the meeting, it was also noted that there is currently no gas load shedding for K-Electric, industrial consumers, and fertilizer plants. Furthermore, domestic consumers are receiving gas three times a day, ensuring a consistent supply for household needs.
