KARACHII: Azad Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Energy and Water Resources, Chaudhry Arshad Hussain, performed the soft launching of the 3rd International Solar Clean Energy Conference 2023.
The AJK minister appreciated that the organizer of the upcoming conference, the Energy Update, had been constantly organizing conferences and exhibitions to promote indigenous and renewable sources of energy abundantly available in the country. He said the conferences being organized by Energy Update on hydroelectricity, wind, and solar power resources were a step ahead toward the energy independence of Pakistan.
NFEH chief Naeem Qureshi, Chairman of the organizing committee of the conference, said the solar clean energy conference was being organized when the government had been desperately looking for reliable means for ensuring the least dependency on imported fossil fuels for electricity production.
He said the conference would be held to help the government in its drive to ensure maximum utilization of clean energy resources that are in abundance in every part of the country. Mr Qureshi said the upcoming conference was fully in line with the vision of the government to ensure that up to 30 percent of electricity in Pakistan was produced from clean energy resources till 2030.
He said the conference would explore all the potential avenues for the maximum exploitation of solar energy resources for domestic and commercial consumers and also for utility-scale projects. Mr Qureshi addded the conference would also discuss the option of indigenous production of equipment used in solar energy projects.
He said the conference would also showcase the latest technological innovations in the solar energy arena for the benefit of the end-consumers of the power sector. The NFEH chief mentioned that the upcoming conference would be attended by all the stakeholders and professionals associated with the solar and clean energy projects in Pakistan. He said that the concerned experts would suggest the way forward for Pakistan in the clean energy sector.
