A high-level meeting of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Forward Bloc Parliamentary Party took place at Kashmir House, Islamabad, demonstrating full support for President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry and Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq. Presided over by President Chaudhry, the meeting saw significant participation from Prime Minister Haq and a large number of AJK cabinet members, representing diverse portfolios including education, health, infrastructure, and finance. Minister for Agriculture Sardar Mir Akbar was absent due to court engagements, while Deputy Speaker Chaudhry Riaz Ahmed joined from Muzaffarabad and Advisor Sabiha Sadiq participated via video link from London.
The meeting affirmed the political group’s unity and outlined plans to formulate an integrated strategy for the upcoming elections. Discussions also focused on accelerating development and social welfare initiatives in AJK, aiming to establish a welfare state.
The issue of occupied Kashmir was prominently highlighted, with participants condemning India’s actions in the occupied territory. They pledged to raise global awareness about the issue and reiterated their commitment to supporting the freedom struggle in occupied Kashmir.
