Ahsan directs to prepare report on impacts of CPEC projects

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal has directed all the Ministries to prepare a report on socio-economic impacts of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects on the country on the occasion of completion of ten years of this mega project.

He issued these directives while presiding over a meeting to review pace of development on projects being carried out under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor here in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ahsan Iqbal said during his recent visit to China, both sides agreed to hold meeting of the Joint Working Group after every two months.

The Minister said government is taking all possible steps to provide security and safety to the investment under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The meeting reviewed progress on ML-1 and Karachi Circular Railways and also deliberated upon different projects including up gradation of Yarak-D I Khan- Zhob Highway, Mirpur-Muzaffarabad road, Mansehra-Babusar Tunnel and Alternate Alignment of Motorway connecting Karachi with Hyderabad.
