Agreement signed for MachikeThalianTaru Jabba White Oil Pipeline Project

An agreement for MachikeThallianTarujabba White Oil Pipeline Project has been signed to complete the oil pipeline backbone of the country from Karachi to Peshawar.

The agreement was signed between stakeholders of the project including Pakistan State Oil and Frontier Works Organization at a ceremony here in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The 477kilometerlong pipeline will connect Punjab from Machike, near Lahore, to Tarujabba, near Peshawar and consists of two segments which are MachikeThallian and ThallianTarujabba along the Motorway.

It has connectivity options with Attock refinery, Chakpirana and Faqirabad. It will complete the petroleum products supply chain from Karachi to Peshawar with initial carrying capacity of seven million tons per annum extendable to 10 million tons per annum.

The project aims to achieve energy efficient movement of petroleum products, preventing their adulteration and ensuring their increased safety.

The pipeline, covering a strategic route, is designed to reduce the dependency on road transportation, minimize environmental impacts, and improve the overall efficiency of oil distribution.

Construction of the pipeline is expected to commence soon with partners committed to ensure that it is completed within stipulated timeline.

The pipeline project is a testament to the commitment of Petroleum Division and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to energy efficient movement of petroleum products.
