ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan delegation organized a roundtable meeting with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Executive Board members, which was attended by nine Executive Directors, representing more than 40 countries.
During roundtable meeting with ADB Executive Board Members, Secretary Economic Affairs Division (EAD), Dr Kazim Niaz made a comprehensive presentation on the catastrophic floods in Pakistan, the government’s response, relief measures and future challenges emanating from the situation.
According to a statement issued here on Wednesday, Secretary EAD stressed upon the Board members to provide maximum assistance to Pakistan in this hour of need, both in the form of budgetary support as well as project that contribute to the proposed rehabilitation strategy. He also requested for their enhancing investment portfolio in Pakistan, particularly in the infrastructure, housing and tourism sectors.
