Acting President Highlights Contributions of Minorities in National Development

Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has commended the vital role played by minorities in the progress and development of the country across various sectors, including defence, healthcare, education, politics, and social welfare. Addressing the Eighth International Interfaith Harmony Conference in Islamabad, he emphasized the importance of protecting the rights of minorities as both a constitutional obligation and a religious responsibility.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Acting President underscored that a strong society is characterized by the ability of people from different faiths to perform their religious rituals with complete freedom. He noted that Pakistan, as a multi-religious society, grants individuals the full right to live according to their respective beliefs.

He highlighted the establishment of the Senate Minority Caucus as a crucial step in integrating minorities into the mainstream and ensuring the swift resolution of their issues. Furthermore, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani affirmed that Pakistan prioritizes dialogue and diplomacy to effectively address regional disputes.
