Karachi: Federal Minister for Industries and Production Makhdoom Murtaza Mehmood has said that Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) will be run on public-private partnership basis. Talking to media, the federal minister said public-private partnership of PSM will be finalized soon. The move is part of federal government’s intention to expedite the process of PSM’s privatization and meet IMF conditions for next tranche of loans.

The minister said that Pakistan People’s Party will take care of PSM employees. He said country’s poor economic condition was affecting import industries badly. These industries are facing hardships in opening their LCs. Murtaza was optimistic that award of relief by State Bank of Pakistan will solve issues of these industries. He added that government was introducing solar panels policy. The minister said companies manufacturing solar panels will be encouraged and given concessions.
