75th Independence Day celebrated across Balochistan

QUETTA: The 75th Independence Day was celebrated across the Balochistan province, including Quetta, on Sunday with traditional zeal and enthusiasm.

Day dawned with a 21 gun salute. In the mosques, prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of the country and the province. All major roads were decorated with flags and banners besides illuminating major public and private buildings of the provincial capital to mark the occasion.

Literary, cultural and social organizations arranged a number of programs to mark the Independence Day. Tajik Milli Ittehad took out a rally from Kabir Building area of Quetta. Participants of rally led by Sardar Muneer Ahmed Tajik, President, Tajik Milli Ittehad marched through different roads and reached Quetta Press Club where the participants of rally started chanting slogans, “Pakistan Zindabad”, “Pak Army Zindabad”.

Jadoon Qaumi Ittehad and Welfare Society led by Hakim Dad Jadoon, Chairman, JQI and WS took out rally and reached Quetta Press Club. Addressing the rally, speakers said that the values of independence could be known from nations who were leading the lives of slavery. Similarly, a big rally under the leadership of noted social worker of Pushtoonabad and national boxer, Bashir Khan (BK) was taken out from Mitha Chowk area of Pushtunabad, Quetta.

Carrying national flags and portraits of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Lt General Asif Ghafoor, Corps Commander Quetta, participants of rally chanted slogans “Pakistan Zindabad”, “Pak-Army Paindabad”, “Is Parcham Ke Sae Taley Hum Aik Hay” “We are united under the shadow of this flag”.

Addressing participants of rally, Bashir Khan (BK) said that the whole nation was standing shoulder to shoulder with Pak-Army to frustrate the nefarious designs of anti-state elements. Separately, functions were held, rallies and demonstrations arranged in Zhob, Killa Saifullah, Muslim Bagh, Chaman, Killa Abdullah, Pishin, Harnai, Loralai, Ziarat, Mastung, Kalat, Khuzdar, Gwadar, Kech, Awaran, Panjgur, Washuk, Noshki, Chagai, Surab, Uthal, Kohlu, Barkhan, Dera Bughti and other areas of the province to commemorate the 75th Independence Day.
