LARKANA: As many as 21 people were bitten by stray dogs in and around Larkana on Friday. All the injured were brought to the Dog Bite Treatment and Vaccination Center of the Chandka Medical College Hospital individually for anti-rabies vaccination and dressing of their wounds by their relatives.
The affected persons include a little girl, 6 year old Asima Bibi, 21 year old Pervaiz Ali, 25 year old Nadir Ali, 55 year old Muhammad Malook and others.
The menace of dog bites is continuing unchecked despite higher court directives and local bodies in Sindh have so far failed to curb it. They are carrying out a campaign of killing pye dogs randomly just for photo sessions but have failed to eliminate the stray dogs as anti-rabies vaccines are costing more taxpayer’s money than killing them.
