Defence Minister led meeting discusses outsourcing of PIA, various airports

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Defence, Defence Production and Aviation Khawaja Muhammad Asif presided over a meeting on outsourcing of airports and privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) here at the Ministry of Aviation on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by Secretary Aviation, Secretary Privatization Commission, Additional Secretary Foreign Affairs Ministry, and other senior officers, according to a press release. Death anniversaries of Haseena Moin, Master Inayat Hussain observed

ISLAMABAD: The third death anniversary of Pakistani dramatist, playwright and scriptwriter, Haseena Moin was observed on Tuesday. She was born on 20 November in 1941 at Kanpur, United Provinces of British India and after independence of Pakistan in 1947, migrated with her family to Pakistan. Haseena Moin wrote several plays for stage, radio, and television including ‘Tanhaiyan’, ‘Ankahi’ and ‘Dhoop Kinaray’. She was the recipient of the Pride of Performance award for her services to the performing arts in Pakistan. She passed away on this day in 2021 in Karachi. HRCP demands better enforcement of safety protocols for coal miners

Peshawar: A fact-finding mission led by the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has determined that the deaths of three coal miners at Darra Adam Khel, Kohat, on 20 October 2023 was due to persistent neglect of occupational safety standards and protocols. According to a statement on Tuesday, the mission visited the mine where the incident had taken place, and another mine in the same district that had no reported history of mining accidents.
