PM thanks Sri Lanka for helping clinch IMF deal

ISLAMABAD:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his gratitude to Sri Lanka for supporting and helping Pakistan in reaching an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). During a telephonic conversation with Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged the role played by Sri Lanka as a friend and well-wisher of Pakistan. He said both Pakistan and Sri Lanka are close and reliable friends. He commended Sri Lanka’s role for regional peace and prosperity. Sutlej River floods vast area, damaging crops

Arifwala:The standing crops were destroyed and many settlements along the river belt were flooded in Arifwala and Chishtian after the water level rose further in the Sutlej River, according to a report on Monday. The water level in the Sutlej River near Arifwala rose further with the inflow of an over 83,000 cusecs water current. Many settlements on the river belt were submerged, and several others were washed away. Pervaiz Elahi Challenges Detention Orders before LHC
