Moon not sighted, Eid-ul-Azha on 10th July

The Zil Hajj 1443 Hijri moon has not been sighted and, therefore, Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on 10th of next month.

This was announced by Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir while talking to media after chairing committee’s meeting in Karachi on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the moon of the month of Dhul Hijjah for the year 1443 AH has been sighted in Saudi Arabia.

The first day of Zilhaj will be tomorrow (Thursday) while the Day of Arafah will fall on July 8 this year.

The Eid Ul Azha will be celebrated on 9th July in the kingdom.

Pakistan dispatches 24.5 tonnes of food for quake-hit Afghan people

The Pakistan Afghanistan Cooperation Forum (PACF) has dispatched two trucks, carrying 24.5 tonnes of food, to the Afghan people hit by the recent earthquake.

The trucks carrying 700 family ration bags crossed Ghulam Khan crossing under the arrangements made by the PACF.

The aid consignment was received by the representative of Governor of Khost who thanked both PACF and Alhuda International for the assistance.

AJK PM approves Rs 100 mln aid for earthquake victims in Afghanistan

Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan has approved 100 million rupees aid for earthquake victims in Afghanistan.

In his message, the AJK Prime Minister expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the people of Afghanistan.

Appreciating Pakistan relief and rehabilitation efforts in Afghanistan, the AJK Prime Minister acknowledged that Pakistan is playing an important role in rehabilitating quake-affectees in Afghanistan.

Pakistan urges G-7 summit to ask India to end ban on Islamabad’s Twitter accounts

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram has asked G-7 countries to demand from India to lift its “massive restrictions on information”, including all the Pakistan accounts, New Delhi has blocked.

In a tweet, he said this suppression of information violates India’s obligations under International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and is yet another sign of the escalating fascism enveloping Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ruled India.
