ISLAMABAD: At least 12 terrorists of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) carried out by the security forces in the Lakki Marwat area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa late Tuesday night.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a statement on Wednesday, said that the movement and activities of the terrorists were being monitored by the intelligence agencies over the last one week.

Weapons, ammunition and Afghan currency was also recovered from the terrorists during the operation. Later, the security forces carried out the clearance operation in the area. The locals have appreciated the operation and lauded the efforts of Pakistan Army in eliminating terrorism.
