Young doctors in Balochistan threaten to close all vaccination centres

QUETTA: All vaccination centres in the province would be closed from February 3, 2022 which would be followed by a protest sit-in to be staged anytime on red zone area of Quetta to besiege Chief Minister’s Secretariat for getting the demands of YDA addressed.

These views were expressed by Dr. Bihar Shah, Vice Chairman, Young Doctors Association (YDA) while addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club here on Wednesday. He said the demands of YDA were not being entertained, adding that health card, which had been rejected by the Sindh government, was nothing but a lie. He said that people of the province were being deprived of basic health facilities. He said cardiovascular hospital was deliberately shifted to Spiny Road to Nawa Killi area of Quetta.

Demanding for bringing salary packages of doctors and paramedical staff of the province at par with the salaries of doctors paramedics of other sister provinces, he called on authorities to provide basic healthcare facilities, including necessary machinery and other healthcare equipments, to the five government run hospitals of Quetta. No lab existed in Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta and Bolan Medical Complex Hospital, Quetta, said he. On the occasion, Dr. Hafeez Mandokhail, Chairman, YDA and others were also present.
