SHIKARPUR: Two people were killed in two separate incidents within the jurisdictions of Madeji and Stuart Gunj police stations near here on Tuesday.

According to a report, a youngster labourer identified as Muhammad Ali Luhar was shot and injured by unidentified armed men near Sabzi Mandi in the jurisdiction of Stuart Gunj police station when he was working at a local hotel.

Area police rushed him to RBUT Civil Hospital Shikarpur for treatment from where he was referred to Sukkur hospital due to his precarious condition, but he died on the way. The cause behind the murder was stated to be an ongoing old dispute.

The body was handed over to his heirs after completing medico legal formalities from RBUT Civil Hospital Shikarpur. Similarly, one person identified as Rasool Bux Junejo, aged 40, was shot dead in village Faqeer Muhammad in the jurisdiction of Madeji police station today.

Madeji police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Government Madeji Hospital for an autopsy. The cause behind the murder could be an old enmity between the two groups of Juneja community, area police said. No any FIR was reported till late evening. Meanwhile, a group of armed men riding a motorcycle intercepted old woman belonging to Mirani community at Punj Guli street and deprived here of Rs60,000 at gunpoint.
