Sindh rejects three-tier formula for water distribution

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Irrigation Department Jam Khan Shoro said on Wednesday that Indus River System Authority (IRSA) had misinterpreted and manipulated the facts in the minutes of the meeting of Advisory Committee which was held on 30th September, 2021 and we strongly condemned this act of IRSA.

This he said in a video message here on today. Shoro said that Sindh Province would not accept the three-tier formula for water distribution under any circumstances, because it had no legal status. He said that IRSA did such misinterpretations in the facts and incorporated in the minutes of the meetings of Advisory Committees in the past. In the year 2003, when IRSA was seeking approval for the three-tier formula, it changed the minutes of the meeting and manipulated the minutes of the meeting in the year of 1994 which were exposed by Sindh government by writing a letter to it.

Shoro uttered that once again, IRSA authorities while maintaining the tradition of talking lies and misery, had misinterpreted the facts in the minutes of the meeting and such actions of IRSA would put negative effects on its credibility. Shoro demanded that IRSA should ensure the video and audio recordings of all upcoming meetings so that Irsa’s misrepresentation of facts could be exposed to the public.
