ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister and PML-N senior leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said Tuesday that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have inflicted a heavy defeat on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the local government polls, rejecting the policies of the government altogether.

Talking to media outside an accountability court in Islamabad where he came to attend the hearing of his case, the former premier said the PTI’s rout in KP’s LG showed that people no longer had trust in this government and they rejected the PTI in the LG polls. He said now it would be difficult for the ruling party to rig the election. People will humiliate the ‘election thieves’, he added.
