LARKANA:PPP activists, led by MNA and PPP Larkana district president Khurshid Junejo, staged a sit-in on Indus Highway here on Sunday against agriculture water shortage, gas and electricity load shedding, sacking of thousands of federal employees in Sindh.
Due to the sit-in on the highway, all kinds of traffic came to standstill for hours and the commuters suffered a lot in this scorching heat. The protesters were holding party flags and banners in their hands and shouted slogans in favour of their just demands.
Khair Muhammad Shaikh, Anwer Luhar, Zaheer Narejo, Afzal Abro, Nasiba Chana, Amina Jamali, Naziran Abro, Siddique Korejo and members of other PPP wings took part in large numbers who arrived from the entire district.
While addressing the participants, Junejo and others said that the PTI government had forced over 16,000 families to undergo hunger after they were suddenly expelled from their jobs. They said economic murder of poverty-ridden farmers and their families had committed because of handmade irrigation water shortage.
They said Sindh had also been deprived from receiving proper NFC Award share by Prime Minister Imran Khan which had proved that he was treating Sindh province step-motherly and indifferently. They said it was really painful that people of Sindh were facing worst electricity and gas load shedding in this sizzling hot weather which proved the mala-fide intention of the central government. They provided justice to Sindh and its people.
