ISLAMABAD: The meetings of Punjab Committee and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Spokespersons chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan was held here on Friday.

Later briefing the media persons, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said the Punjab committee discussed in detail the province’s local bodies elections. He said a high powered committee has been constituted to finalize PTI’s candidates for district Mayors. He said it has been decided that Punjab committee will meet every Friday.

He said Punjab Committee also discussed the by elections held in Khanewal yesterday. He said there were reports of horse trading in the by polls and it is important the Election Commission of Pakistan take requisite steps against it.

The Information Minister said Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar gave a briefing to the meeting of spokespersons about the gas situation in the country. He said Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited is fully supplying gas to 1800 industrial units out of 2300 units. He said the LNG was imported on time.

The spokespersons’ meeting was briefed about the money laundering case of PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif and his family members. The Information Minister said since the matter is in court, we expect that the court will hear it on day to day basis for its early conclusion.

In his remarks on the occasion, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said the internet and mobile services will not be closed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday on the occasion of the OIC conference.

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib said the extraordinary session of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Islamabad shows the importance of Pakistan and its successful foreign policy.
