LARKANA: A man was gunned down over Karo-Kari issue in Sadiq Machi village of Warah Taluka near here on Thursday.
According to rescue sources, Muhammad Din Solangi was gunned down over Karo-Kari issue in Sadiq Machi village of Warah Taluka. His body was shifted to the Emergency Department of the Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for medico-legal formalities. He was the father of six children.
His body was brought in front of the local press club where his relatives held a protest demonstration demanding arrest of all the accused involved in the murder.
Muzan Machi, father of the deceased, complained before newsmen while protesting along with his wife Mahar Khatoon, son Ali Shaikh and others that about one and half month back his 13-year daughter Babli was sexually assaulted by an influential person of his community named Amjad Solangi for which decision was made in a jirga and the notables decided that Amjad was a Karo, imposed a fine of Rs seven lacs on him and he was also expelled from the village for two years. He said after hearing the punishment Amjad did not accept the decision of the notables and started issuing us threats of life.
He said my son Muhammad Din was standing on the roof of our home today when accused Abdul Rasul, Shahid, Hajan, Khaliq, Mir Hassan, Nisar, Amjad and others opened fire and injured my son very critically. He said they immediately rushed him to the CMCH but he could not survive.
He said they have informed the relevant Gaji Khuhawar police station but they have not arrested any accused so far which is unjust and cruel. They demanded immediate arrest of all the accused and dispense justice.
