LARKANA: The employees of provincial Local Government Department continued their strike in Sindh on second day under the banner of Shah Lateef Local Government Employees Federation, Sindh, as neither garbage was lifted from any city or town nor sewage drains were cleaned causing tremendous hardships for the taxpayers. Many roads in Larkana including Sheva Mandli Road and Gajanpur Road were inundated with overflowing sewage and heaps of garbage were seen across the Larkana city, Naundero, Bakrani, Ratodero and elsewhere unlifted causing pollution and environmental hazards.

The employees held separate protest demonstrations in these towns as well after locking their respective offices urging the Local Government Department bosses to accept their just demands forthwith which include their fundamental demand of disbursing their monthly salaries through existing computerized online system of District Accounts Offices so that menace of unlawful deductions from their emoluments could be curbed.

Sanaullah Korejo, Shakil Mirani, Ahad Jamal, Nisar Bhutto, Zahid Bhutto and others said that their protest and strike will continue till their just demand is accepted by the Sindh Government. They said Sindh Chief Minister has already directed the LG Department and Finance Department several times to computerize all our employees and disburse our monthly salaries as are paid to other government servants but the bureaucrats are creating un-necessary bottlenecks and hurdles which will further aggravate the situation.

Larkana’s District Council employees Manzoor Mugheri, Imdad Pitafi, Muhammad Bux Soomro and others also joined their colleagues and urged the rulers to decide the issue once for all as they will never abandon their protest untill and unless they are treated at par with other Sindh Government employees and paid through online system of government treasury. They urged the Sindh Chief Minister to take notice of the issue and resolve it immediately and earn their blessings.
