ISLAMABAD: International Day of Peace is being observed today (Tuesday) to highlight the global challenges which pose serious threat to mankind.
Theme for this year is “Recovering better for an equitable and sustainable world”. Pakistan has always supported the United Nations in ensuring peace in the world and deployed one of the largest peace keeping contingents under UN umbrella.
The world has also acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts and extra-ordinary results while Pakistan achieved in fight against terrorism. On the other hand, India has been violating human rights of Muslims especially in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and has put peace in danger of the most populated part of the world. Moreover, three nuclear armed nations are in the region and the extent of patronage India is enjoying merely due to its vast market may yield catastrophic consequences.
