Gwadar city inundates after torrential rain

GWADAR: Gwadar city inundated after torrential rain, causing damage to dozens of residential homes and government buildings besides disrupting power supply in the city. According to reports, rain water on Sunday inundated Gwadar city of Balochistan province, damaging residents homes and government buildings. Power supply remained suspended in the city.

Central leader of Balochistan National Party (Mengal) MPA Mir Hamal Kalmati accompanied by Captain (Retd) Jamil Ahmed Baloch, Deputy Commissioner, Gwadar visited different areas of the city. Talking to media, MPA Mir Hamal Kalmati called on authorities to declare Gwadar a disaster hit area and compensate the affected families after carrying out estimate of the damages caused by recent torrential rains. He said that at that critical juncture, he was standing with the people of Gwadar.

Deputy Commissioner, Gwadar, Major (Retd) Jamil Ahmed Baloch said that directions to the authorities of Municipal Committee, Gwadar had been issued to expedite cleaning drainage system of the city, adding that in order to provide relief to the people, all available resources would be utilized.
