ISLAMABAD: A cake cutting ceremony in connection with the Christmas celebrations was held here at National Broadcasting House, Islamabad on Wednesday.
According to a Radio Pakistan report, Secretary Information Shahera Shahid was the chief guest. In her address on the occasion, Secretary Information said Radio is her second home and all out efforts are being made to revive the glory of this great institution.
She congratulated the Christian community on the eve of Christmas. Earlier, Director General Radio Pakistan Muhammad Asim Khichi said Islam is a religion of peace and teaches us interfaith harmony and freedom of religious practices.
He paid tribute to the Christian community in Pakistan for rendering meritorious services for the country in all spheres of life. Christmas songs and prayers were presented on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Bishop Tariq Jan said the Christian community will continue playing its role for progress and prosperity of the country. He thanked Radio Pakistan for holding the cake cutting ceremony.
